This project identified a need for an advanced conversational English class among the Hispanic residents in Atlantic City. Hispanics city dwellers were surveyed, English as a second language teachers were trained in surveying and action-reflection. Hispanic residents were surveyed as to their primary language, education levels, occupations in their native country and in USA. Teachers participated in an action-reflection process as they interacted with Hispanic students and residents. Cross-cultural awareness training provided teachers with skills to interact more effectively with Hispanic city dwellers.
