  • The project director provides an introduction to contemporary issues in medical ethics and lays the foundation for religious leaders to be advocates for parishioners in the difficult decision-making choices that are so much a part of today's medical experience. The historical roots of medical ethics are surveyed, along with current views of the importance of spirituality. The educational methodology employed is adult cooperative learning and participatory action research utilizing both large and small group models. Finally, the project director organizes data to articulate a community value system based upon the perceived values of a community's religious leaders.
