  • Despite the consensus and statistical indications that the United Methodist Church of North America is in decline, this project asserts that God's nature tends toward revival of his people. Declining spiritual vitality need not be normative for the denomination. Through research, questionnaires, and interviews, the analysis asks four theological questions concerning revival of three different groups who have witnessed renewal in their midst: the leaders of the Great Awakenings, the current revived Methodist Church of Cuba, and five revived United Methodist congregations in Virginia. Their insight will generate 'seeds' of revival that offer potential fruit for a spiritually dry denomination.
