Abstrakt

This project gives guidelines for the development of a policy manual for use in a congregationally-governed church. Based upon methods used for policy formulation researched from business and educational management, a detailed process is given to guide in the development and use of policy statements in church management. Drawing upon this process, and experience in other congregationally-governed churches, policy statements were formulated, acted upon and compiled into a 'Church Policy Manual'. This manual is used as ready reference for the church leadership. The contents, format, and organization of this manual can serve as a guide to other churches.
