  • The method of the study included a review of general literature relating to teaching the synoptic gospels and a survey on the present situation of teaching the synoptic gospels in the five regional seminaries in the Presbyterian Church of Korea. The conclusion presents some considerations for interpreting and teaching the synoptic gospels: to examine the message of God contained in the thoughts of the gospel authors; to find a common truth of redemption in the New Testament; to interpret the prophetic messages in the synoptics in the light of the authors' spirituality; to interpret Jesus' life and works in consideration of the purpose of the authors; and to examine carefully the intentions of the gospel authors.
