The key researchable question was as follows: Will a series of third person narrative sermons organized according to Eugene Lowry's 'homiletical plot' motivate a congregation in a separationist theological tradition to engage in a specific friendship evangelism behavior? The behavioral change targeted in this thesis was measured by two questionnaires distributed after two 'Friendship Sunday' worship services to which members of the local congregation had been encouraged to invite their 'seeker' friends.
