Abstrakt

This project proposes a strategic planning model for local churches, employing specific administrative planning methods to direct a congregation toward its unique, God-given vision. The model supports Seward Hiltner's three perspectives of pastoral theology: shepherding, communicating, and organizing. The process facilitates shepherding by determining and meeting needs of church and community, developing a plan to strengthen membership and inform the community by communicating the message of the gospel. The process is also an organizing technique that involves, motivates, and equips local church members.
