Abstrakt

The paper seeks to help ministers deal with a culture which justifies itself with work and success in the capitalistic mode and with the ministry which sags under the weight of intellectualizing and defining. Designated leaders of the church will be more effective if they can be aware of the need for their 'production' to be balanced by the energizing and recreative aspects of play. Such a need might well begin with the intimacy in their own family relationships. The disquisition develops the relational theme of play biblically, sociologically, and psychologically. Practical suggestions as to a better balance between work, play, and love are given.
