Abstrakt

This thesis proves that an enhanced, focused prayer ministry will result in increased church planting in the Nigerian Evangelical Church of West Africa. Chapter 1 defines the subject of prayer and proves that the Bible is not only an infallible divine revelation of God's plan of redemption, but also a record of the invaluable inspirational prayers of Jesus Christ. Chapter 2 begins with the birth of the Sudan Interior Mission and substantiates its mission emphasis by prayer in West Africa. Chapter 3 examines hindrances to prevailing prayers and the Nigerian Evangelical Church of West Africa involvement with charismatic movement. Chapter 4 addresses the importance of prayer in mission and biblical imperatives of praying for mission. Prayer strategies for rapid exponential increase of church planting are also included. Chapter 5 emphasizes prayer as an invaluable means of 'fellowshipping' with God and for evangelism and church planting.
