  • This project was designed to enhance the integration of newcomers, especially urban in background, into town and country congregations. The project sought to motivate present church members to be intentional about including new members. The Sunday worshipping congregation was included through presentation of related topics. Membership classes addressed strengths and differences between people of urban and rural backgrounds. The church programming board created assisting strategies to integrate new members. The report outlines biblical and theological bases for integrating newcomers, with sermon and class content suggestions. The project showed membership classes encourage integration and a worship focus increases everyone's participation.
