- This project studied Victory leadership Institute (VLI), the training ministry of Victory Christian Fellowship churches (Morning Star International) in manila, Philippines. Biblical study and literature survey identified the nature, development, and practice of spiritual authority in Asia. Empirical study utilized leadership Emergence Theory (Clinton) to interpret qualitative ethnographic data and quantitative questionnaire data from researcher developed assessment tools. Three findings emerged: spiritual authority has both universal aspects and culturally distinct expressions; identity formation is central in spiritual authority development; and instructor 'fathering' of students had life changing impact. Instructors used their authority to build up the men they mentor.
