  • This dissertation is a study of the relationship of current spiritual and existential wellness of an individual as defined by the SWBS to family of origin. Two groups of individuals between the ages of thirty and forty-five, raised in Christian and non-Christian homes, completed the SWBS and FSI. The thesis that a child raised in a healthy Christian home would generate high scores on the SWBS were proved to be true. Children raised in non-Christian homes or troubled Christian homes tended to score lower on the FSI, lower on the SWBS or have a greater variance between the R and E scores on the SWBS.
