The study focuses on the leadership development of the local church board as a corporate body rather than as individual lay leaders. The research design employs a questionnaire to obtain indicators as to where the board was in its development and what leadership development needed to occur for improved effectiveness. The design includes a lay focus group for interpreting data and developing leadership development sessions.
