  • The purpose of this project was to develop programs within the Black church to create awareness regarding black abandoned infants and children and their families, including other needs, that will ultimately lead to the prevention of abandonment. A train-the-trainer workshop empowered trainers to train leaders and lay people in the development of programs within Black churches in the Atlanta, Georgia area in order to prevent the abandoment of infants and children. The workshop was designed to promote the establishing of ministries in Black churches, show an understanding of the role of the Black church, and empower lay people to develop on-going ministries in Black churches as it relates to black abandoned infants and children.
