Abstrakt

This project leads the Mount Olivet Baptist Church (Lowes, Ky) in developing guidelines to increase frequency of and member participation in observance of the Lord's supper. Biblical, historical, theological, and practical research data inform the congregation's decisions, while congregational surveys determine the effects of sermons, lessons, and observance of the Lord's supper on congregational attitudes. The project demonstrates ways that the Lord's supper affects congregational life and the difficulties church leaders confront in changing a church's observance.
