Abstrakt

Based on the demands of a growing isolation of confined senior adults, the project procured material resources and trained volunteers for intentional ministry among the homebound members of Calvary Baptist Church, Los Banos, California and among the nursing home residents of New Bethany skilled nursing unit. The stated goal of the project was to include church members with impaired mobility, and nursing home residents unable to attend local fellowships, as ministry participants in a weekly visitation program. Surveys employed to measure the effectiveness of the project's development and implementation provided statistical insight into the effectiveness and feasibility of such an endeavor. The outcome encourages contemporary ministers to investigate and implement such a strategy in their ministry settings.
