The author conducted case studies of three churches to learn what rural churches are doing to evangelize and disciple newcomers in demographically changing communities. Through multiple interviews at sites in Oregon and Washington, the author discovered that welcoming newcomers requires the church to adopt a missional mindset that serves the community.
