Abstrakt

The project focuses on the difference in the pastoral counseling relationship between clients who are members and clients who are non-members of the congregation (300 members) the pastoral counselor serves. The research assesses the data collected in case studies from three years of pastoral counseling. The results show a number of differences in the role identity, in the depth or level of counseling and in the approach of the pastoral therapist. For members the couselor was primarily pastor and for non-members the counselor was primarily pastoral therapist.
