Abstrakt

The purpose of this project was to develop a peer mentoring strategy that will assist veteran Baptist Student Ministry directors in equipping and supporting new Baptist Student Ministry directors in Texas. The project director trained and led a strategy development team composed of four Texas Baptist Student Ministry directors and two university students to develop the peer mentoring strategy. The strategy development team and project director met together in six ninety-minute sessions. The first three sessions were devoted to demonstrating the need for a peer mentoring project with Texas Baptist Student Ministers and preparing the team to develop such a strategy. The final three sessions focused on developing goals and objectives for each category of the strategy. Following the sixth session, team members worked independently to complete the remaining parts of the strategy. The project director compiled and edited the final written strategy. Evaluations of the project indicated that the team and project director developed a relevant peer mentoring strategy for Texas Baptist Student Ministers.
