  • This project describes a process of improving financial stewardship attitudes and behaviors. Church leadership went through a self-evaluation and drew up a ten-year financial report. They designed a questionnaire and used it to analyze change. The minister delivered six sermons on financial stewardship. Findings showed that attitudes did not generate the shortfall in giving. The denomination sets goals too high. Members gave generously to a variety of causes. Leaders then guided small group discussions to encourage members, discuss allocation of funds, and make suggestions for the 1993 budget. The resulting budget reflected these discussions.
