- The purpose of this project was to equip ministry leaders of First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem in Clarksville, Tennessee, to use strategy planning skills in ministry development. Using the equipping program model, the project included the development of a workshop which addressed the following topics: interpreting the mission and vision of the church; conducting a SWOT analysis; developing and prioritizing objectives; developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies; and facilitating group decision making. Workshop participants demonstrated an increased understanding of strategy planning. Participants also indicated their intent to use their strategy planning skills in their ministry areas.
