Abstracto

The project explored how to assist older adults to accept the transition to eternal life with equanimity and anticipation. The project design consisted of interviews with pastors of older adults, a lecture-training series of encouragers to assist older adults with their transition, and feed back from encouragers and older adults about the transition ministry. My most significant findings were: (1) learning that the way one perceives death is a development stage for spiritual growth; (2) learning that talks with God helps older adults to express their deepest inner-self; and, (3) learning that transformation of one's life continues to the point of death and beyond.
