This mixed-genre memoir in poetry and short essays explores themes of grief, joy, shifting narratives, and resilience. It tells of one woman’s move from the United States to Jerusalem with her husband and two young children. The author and her family accompany the people of the Palestinian Lutheran Church until their unexpected and abrupt evacuation from Jerusalem due to the war on Gaza in October 2023.
