Abstrakt

This project enables a local church to understand and address specific needs of those adults who live with a perception that they missed the 'parental blessing' as children. To validate the concept of a parental blessing the project explores biblical material and recent work in behavioral sciences. The project designs and conducts a workshop that helps participants to externalize their stories of childhood trauma and receive blessing from other group members. Results of ego-strength tests and evaluative questionnaires indicate that the majority of group members have begun a process of recovery.
