Abstract
  • The thesis project begins with the assumption that the eucharistic assembly is the context for understanding and shaping the role of the presider at eucharist. By examining the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy and several other liturgical documents with regard to the assembly and the presider's role, the project identifies a number of attitudes and skills needed for presiding effectively within the liturgical assembly. Using a praxis-theory-praxis approach from practical theology, the project develops a pedagogical framework to help beginning presiders develop a style of presiding that reflects these attitudes and skills.
