  • This project addresses the need for a biblically grounded framework for servant leadership development. Research explored three biblical metaphors toward a servant leadership development framework: servant, shepherd, and steward. A survey of 110 field team leaders and ten interviews with national leaders responsible for leadership development revealed the need for a biblically grounded paradigm, unique spiritual disciplines for leaders, better equipping for shepherding care of followers, clearer focus toward role complexity, and leaders experiencing greater fulfillment in their calling. The researcher presents a new leadership development paradigm to effectively increase the capacity of servant leaders for the kingdom of God.
