Abstrakt

This project proposes 'Africentrism' as a tool for creating intentional missions statements that will place African American churches back at the center of social self-help and spiritual growth in the African American community, working to ameliorate its problems. The project contrasts 'Africentrism' with 'Afrocentrism' and studies three model churches that espouse and practice these views. This research is then applied in the mission of Shiloh Baptist Church.
