Abstrakt

The thesis was that a program of developing parenting skills would promote improvement and enhance skills needed among particpating parents. The program focused weekly on one of six skills: understanding the parenting role, understanding the developmental needs of children, building self-esteem in children, understanding methods of discipline, developing the child's faith, and preparing for adolescent children. Descriptive survey methodology and simple statistical evaluations were used with an experimental group. Statistically significant growth was measured by the pretest/posttest evaluation.
