Abstrakt

This project explores the role of the pastor as counselor and traces the development of family therapy. The 'family as patient' emphasis is explained, and contrasted with the more traditional psychoanalytical approaches that center on the individual. Specific case studies are presented which illustrate the application of system theory. The author relates his experience in a counseling practicum and his subsequent growth and development as a pastoral counselor.
