  • By listening closely to the stories and shared memories of a small congregation, a church leader can discover what the church does well and, by utilizing those strengths in the present context, promote a period of growth in ministry and mission. Through a series of remembering sessions with the congregation, stories, and memories were gathered. From these stories and memories four factors of growth and three factors of decline were identified. These growth and decline factors were then used to shape new ministry and mission for the congregation for today.
