Abstrakt

The author's thesis question was: 'Can I develop and implement a program that will be a means of grace in transforming persons to understand Christian discipleship in relationship with the poor by engaging in a study of, an exposure to, and a reflection on the issue of homeless persons living in Staunton, Virginia?' A pro-active research method was used. The author hoped that the program participants would be transformed by the experience and this would result in their becoming involved in ministries with the poor and homeless. After completing the program, the author reports the answer to the thesis question is yes. Persons were transformed by the experience.
