  • The thesis of this project was that after attending nine divorce recovery workshops, participants would lower their levels of avoidance activities and intrusive thinking in response to their divorce, raise their levels of self-esteem, and make progress toward a self-selected goal. The nine workshops were designed incorporating biblical, sociological and psychological understandings of divorce. Two test instruments were used in a pretest, post-test model to judge how much participants changed. Progress toward a goal was judged by the participants' self-ratings. Analysis indicated statistically significant change was achieved in three of the four tested areas.
