This project is aimed at a selected group of ten high school students who give evidence of spiritual maturity, and a willingness to engage in an intensive study of the history of the Bible and the hermeneutical principles for interpreting the Bible. The project will be conducted over an eight-week period. The students will read collateral readings prior to each session, and interact with a reading-discussion guide which is designed to focus attention on the specific principles to be learned. The project will be evaluated by means of a pre-test and a post-test, which will be given to those in the project group and a group of students of similar ability who will not engage in the project. The goal of the project is to show that with proper instruction youths will become better interpreters of the Word of God.
