Abstrakt

This project proposes and tests a process of dramatic change in a declining United Methodist congregation, Church of the Cross (Salina, Kans), based on research in congregations that have grown from fewer than 200 to more than 250 in worship attendance. The project employs a business model called 'the proven path' as a diagnostic guide to crucial components of change and interviews pastors of 'turnaround' congregations to verify its findings.
