  • This project proposes a new paradigm for church administration designed to help lay leaders discover God's presence in their ministries, testing it with 10 vestrypersons and 32 lay leaders of Church of the Redeemer (Cincinnati, Ohio). Members of the vestry ask lay leaders to write statements about their ministries and their faith. They then meet and pray with each layperson twice. Then in a second session the vestry and leaders rewrite the ministry and faith statements. The project demonstrates that when lay leaders feel God's presence they are less likely to experience burnout and more likely to continue in ministry for longer periods of time.
