  • The purpose of this project is to develop and implement a training program to prepare lay persons to minister to cancer patients. This project involves twelve weeks of training sessions that include: lectures, group dynamics, and personal visitation. The effectiveness of the training is measured through the administration of pretraining and posttraining tests (Semantic Differential and Knowledge Questionnaires). The test scores are compared to a control group which is similar to the training group in number of persons, gender, and age. Its was concluded that the training program was effective for cancer ministry.
