  • Fundamentalists engage in prayer and exorcism among their members. Liberals are very cautious about being too involved in healing and deliverance. Liberal congregation members go to fundamentalist healing centers, and return on Sunday mornings to their own congregations. This project investigated views from churches with members of African background about their belief in healing and deliverance. We discovered that many of the church members and pastors prefer the term 'healing' to 'deliverance,' for they believe that the latter scares some people from participating. The researcher suggests that 'Healing Ministry' be adopted as an overarching name for healing and deliverance.
