Abstrakt

Plurality is a significant factor in many churches today. Within a single congregation people differ from one another in terms of politics, education, economics, theology, and background. Sometimes these differences cause creative and positive interactions, at other times friction and turmoil. This thesis attempts to look at diversity in the church from several perspectives--biblical, theological, and behavioral science--and to develop a set of strategies for making diversity a positive element in a particular congregation. Also included in the thesis are examples of the strategies which were developed as they were implemented and a glimpse at the effect of such implementation.
