Abstrakt

This work proposes the use of art illustrations in the process of preparing sermons to improve the communication of sermon material. While the primary purpose of the paper was to validate and encourage the use of art illustrations in preaching, the expected result was not achieved. The failed result was due to art illustrations being unfamiliar to the majority of congregations. This would be an attempt to clarify the unfamiliar or abstract with another unfamiliar or abstract point. After examining the thesis, the consensus was that art is valid for the preacher in making the sermon relevant, but primarily as a window in understanding the culture of the community.
