  • The purpose of this applied research project was to discover whether complementing a church-based seminary course with a network of mentors would be both feasible and beneficial to the learning experience. The project consisted of the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the course and of a yoked mentoring program. The mentoring program was designed to complement the knowledge acquisition gained from the course by developing relevant character traits and ministry skills. Data gathered from both proteges (course participants) and mentors using various data collection tools strongly supported the case of mentoring as a feasible and effective complement to classroom teaching.
