  • The purpose of this project was to use a spiritual-gifts-based model to reignite a passion for ministry among the elders council of the Dayspring Community Church, Lanham, Maryland, following the sudden resignation of the pastor. The model for ministy consisted of gifts assessments, questionnaires and interviews, and a series of workshops and accompanying sermons. The project revealed the elders were more motivated by the need to accomplish an assignment than by their area of giftedness. Results indicated that, while leaders respected the emphasis on gifts, they needed a respite. More time is needed to develop a culture of gifts appreciation.
