Abstrakt

This project investigates the hypothesis that a home-cell group ministry in the Korean Central Baptist Church could transform the traditional church and pastor roles into a more efficient and effective church paradigm. The project report provides background on the traditional relationship of the pastor with his congregation in the Korean Church; introduces three key goals; and discuses this study's methodologies. The author presents the biblical, theoretical, and historical foundations for cell group ministry considering 'the church' as the koinonia associated with Paul. It also introduces aspects of the cell ministry movement in other locations, such as China, India, Africa, Australia, and Korea. The project discusses the disillusionment within the Korean church community due to changes in traditional religious, political and societal expectations. The author's theory is that strong home-cell fellowship between members of the community can foster and encourage every member to fulfill their calling by God.
