Abstrakt

The author raises the question, 'Is primal integration therapy a viable psychotherapeutic tool for meeting the theological and psychological concerns of pastoral counseling'? Research includes a review of pertinent theological, psychological and pastoral care literature; an interview with Cecil G Osborne, founder of Primal Integration therapy; and questionnaires given to former patients, therapists and pastoral counselors. The project includes graphs which compare the theological and psychological responses to the research questions raised. Primal integration therapy is commended as a viable psychotherapeutic instrument for pastoral counseling.
