  • The purpose of this practicum/project is to develop a Bible study using the shared praxis approach, developed by Thomas Groome, as a means to inductively teach the salutary benefit of ritual, gesture and symbolism in corporate, liturgical worship. This Bible study seeks to create a paradigm shift from a perspective that sees ritual, gesture and symbolism suspiciously to one that is both biblical and beneficial. The practicum established the advantages of an inductive approach and that a deep yearning exists among Lutherans for knowledge and expressions in understanding the use of ritual, gesture and symbolism in the Lutheran liturgy.
