  • Is it possible for a truly cross-cultural partnership to take place within The United Methodist Church in relation to creating a Native American Course of Study pastoral training program? The two authors conducted historical research on the denomination's history and theology, as well as contemporary exploration of Native American pedagogy. These insights were applied to the design of the ministry tool--syllabi for three years of courses. The case studies reflect on the process of introducing the concept and ministry tool into the denominational systems and the Native American United Methodist community.
