  • This research tests the hypothesis that leaders who engage in self-directed reading of Christian literature more likely develop an integrated, mature faith. Three focus groups helped understanding of issues, fashioning of goals, and crafting of the 'faith and reading survey.' An nth name selection from a church list in a 4,000 sample and 1,021 useable responses. The survey measured demographics, five behavioral and attitudinal areas of reading, and horizontal and vertical faith levels, making it possible to relate faith level development to religious readership. The research showed that the relationship tended to be direct.
