Abstrakt

This project critiques the development of a ministerial training program at a liberal arts college. The evaluation was based on a review of the development processes and observations of the outcomes eight years later. The resulting suggestions: (1) work in full partnership with the church; (2) recognize restraints of traditions, but suggest strategies which will fulfill the objectives; (3) make spiritual and character formation objectives a priority; (4) develop a curriculum that creates independent thinkers; (5) provide for integrated practical ministry training and extended ministry experience; and, (6) complete all aspects of the development before inaugurating the program.
