- This study examines whether the narrative method is a useful approach for Clinical Pastoral Education in prisons and other settings. It explores use of narrative theory as a pedagogical approach, a model for theological reflection, and a method for facilitation of group process. It explores how the framework of narrative and social construction enhances interest generated learning that is technical, practical, and emancipatory (Mezirow's Transformational Learning Theory); learning in relation to thinking, feeling, and behaving (Corey's Group Process Theory); and theological reflection (Tillich and Liberation theorists). Relation, meaning, sanctification, and empowerment are considered in the development of this pastoral theology.
