  • The author developed and tested an assimilation model to equip converts and new members to begin or further their Christian journey with 'the end in mind.' In a two-part study, an assimilation model for new member education was developed and the model was field tested in three ninety minute focus group sessions. Although the participating churches focused primarily on administrative efficiency, there is interest and need for a new model. The study recommends that new member education begin with 'the end in mind' and be designed to integrate assimilation principles to enhance church growth and pastoral care.
